The technician guides the probe towards the uterus and ovaries so that they can see what is happening there or if anything appears unusual.
Usually if a cyst is problematic and requires removal than they can be treated via way of laparoscopic surgery.
It's a procedure that does involve a surgeon making an incision in your body usually in the abdomen. A small thin scope is then usually passed through the incision so that it can either take a biopsy to determine if it is benign, or remove it if it needs to be.
It's important that you realize that ovarian cysts are normal and a common part of your menstrual cycle. It's just that if you get too many cysts than it may pose problems with conception. Also, it depends on the type of cysts you have and if they are cancerous, or pose a risk in that kind of way.
