Knowing when you ovulate holds the key to when you find out you ae most fertile. Just before ovulation, and leading into ovulation is usually the best time to conceive. The few days before ovulation, and the day of ovulation are when you have the best chances of getting pregnant.
You normally ovulate about 14 days into your cycle. The first day of your cycle is day one of your periods. But just remember that everyone is different - you could ovulate 18 days into your cycle.
So the next question is, how do you know when you ovulate?

When Do I Ovulate?

Knowing when you ovulate is the most important thing if you are trying to learn when you are most fertile. Before and up to oulation is the best time to conceive. There are techniques that are simple enough for you to do that can help you work out when you ovulate each cycle.

Monitor Your Cervical Mucus

Our bodies produce cervical mucus which changes in structure during your cycle. When you are most fertile your mucus becomes like egg whites.
Find out in depth how to detect when you have the most fertile mucus, which is a strong indicator that your body is ready for conception.

Check Your Cervix

Checking your cervix is another free and easy method you can do to detect when you are possibly most fertile.
Your cervix remains high and closed and hard when you aren't fertile, but when your body is ready to accept sperm allowing them entry to your fallopian tubes, it will be low, soft and open. Find out in further detail how to check your cervix, so that you will know when your body is highly fertile.

Use a Basal Body Thermometer

Using a basal body thermometer (bbt), is another cost effective way you can monitor your bodies signs for high fertility.
By taking your temperature you can detect ovulation when you see a solid temperature shift as you enter the luteal phase, your second half of your cycle that occurs after ovulation.
Find out how using a bbt will help you find your most fertile time.

Use an Ovulation Calculator

An ovulation calculator, although not the most accurate way to detect your most fertile time, it can provide you with a way to see at a glance when you are most likely to ovulate.

Use an Ovulation Predictor Kit

An ovulation predictor kit can help you to see when you are going to ovulate. It can be a little more expensive than the previous options, but through using a test in your urine stream, or through testing your saliva you can detect when ovulation is pending, so you can actually get an idea even before you are going to ovulate.
This gives you an advantage because you can get a couple of extra days of baby-making in (once you've ovulated you've missed your most fertile time of the month.

You could just do one of these techniques, or combine a few to get a more accurate measure. As an example I often use a basal body thermometer and use ovulaton tests in urine stream to get a combined and accurate idea of when my fertile time is approaching.
If you know when you ovulate, you can learn to time your baby-making activities so that you are doing so when it is the best time to conceive.
Goodluck and baby dust to you!
