The Best Pregnancy Test
Think you might be pregnant? You need to get the best pregnancy test and find out for sure! But what is one of the better tests you can use?
Firstly you need to know what a pregnancy test measures. If you have conceived and your pregnancy tests shows a positive and pregnant result, than it's safe to say your hCG levels (human chorionic gonadotropin hormone) has risen and is being released into the blood and urine.
The amount of hormone detected is relevant and proportional to the length of your pregnancy, that's why some tests can detect when you are pregnant before others.
Early pregnancy tests have a more sensitive reading of hCG and can therefore detect a smaller amount of hormone in your system, which of course increases with each day of pregnancy.
When To Take A Pregnancy Test
There are plenty of tests available now that can give you results up to 6 days before your period is due, the trouble is, alot of women miscarry without knowing inbetween the time of implantation (which is 7 to 10 days after ovulation), and the time of their period.
The best pregnancy test isn't always the one that can detect if you are pregnant earliest, let me explain why.
In older days when tests weren't so advanced to pick up the most minute registered reading of hCG you wouldn't be able to test this early, and so wouldn't even suspect that you have miscarried. Knowing that you have can be upsetting to you if you know that you did get pregnant and than miscarry in that time.
So the choice is yours, you can look for an early test, but I personally think it is better to wait that bit longer (even though it can almost kill you to wait!).
In a nutshell the best pregnancy test is one that can detect your hCG levels, but is normally best done after your period is due, regardless of how early it can detect a pregnancy, so then your chances of miscarrying decrease slightly.
Types of Pregnancy Tests
This type of test can be either conducted by placing in the urine stream or by collecting the urine in a cup and dipping the test into the cup.
Another test is a blood test that you can have taken at our doctors, normally most women will do a test at home, and if they are pregnant they will have it confirmed by a doctor with this test.
There is usually a third test also conducted by your health practioner in the form of a pelvic examination, usually this test can determine the actual length of the pregnancy too.
When doing an at home pregnancy test, always follow the instructions on the pack, as tests differ from brand to brand.
Goodluck and I hope you get the result you are seeking!
