Are You Still Able to Conceive?
Sometimes medication and fertility just don't go hand in hand. Did you know that your medication may be preventing you from conceiving? Now we all know that there are some medicines you just can't avoid taking, but sometimes there are better alternatives, or solutions.
Never stop taking any medication unless you get the go ahead from your doctor. You must always remember your health comes first.
If you are taking medication review it with your doctor - just so you know if it might be one of the reasons for your infertility, and also to have peace of mind that the medication you are on is okay for you to take whilst trying for a baby.
Ideally you don't want to interrupt your medication if it is something you need, but it won't hurt to raise the subject with your doctor to see if there are any other options for you, in the case that your current medication may be affecting your fertility.
You could be doing everything to maximise your chances of a chance of becoming pregnant, but unfortunately you won't get far if you are taking something that affects your fertility.
The main goal is to make sure you are doing everything possible to help your chances of pregnancy, without hindering your health.
Just remember, there are options out there to help you. For example, just say you are about to undergo cancer treatment. Did you know that some cancer treatments can render you infertile?
The key here is to find another way around things. You could talk to your doctor before treatment so that they can try and keep your fertility in mind whilst treating you. Some couples even choose to have eggs and sperm extracted and frozen to preserve their fertility for later.
Don't feel stuck if you can't avoid taking a medication that possibly hinders fertility. If there's a will there's a way! Explore your options so that you can find a way that's going to give you the best chance at being able to conceive, and also give you the best chance of having and retaining good health. Medication and fertility together can work to give you the results, if you properly assess your personal situation to seek answers and solutions.
