Ovarian Pain: Reasons why you might have pain

Ovarian Pain:
Reasons why you might have pain

ovarian pain
If you are experiencing ovarian pain, it could be for a number of different reasons.
You have two ovaries which are a fundamental part of being able to conceive. Your ovaries are where all your eggs lay dormant, waiting to be released upon ovulation each month in the hope of fertilization with a sperm.

Common reasons for pain in your ovaries can include the presence of cysts and polyps.
Cysts and polyps are common in a lot of women and if you have many cysts you could have polycystic ovarian syndrome.
A lot of women mistaken ovarian pain for abdominal pain because it can be hard to tell the difference, so if you are unsure as to what the pain is and you are experiencing persistent worrying symptoms, check with your doctor to be sure where the pain is coming from, and what the cause of it may be.

What Do Your Ovaries Do?

Basically your ovaries are responsible for a couple of important things within your body, the first being the production of essential balancing hormones, and the second is to prepare an egg for hopeful fertilization.
If you are experiencing pain, it can be anywhere from dull and subtle, to sharp, acute and very frequent. Pain can last for a few months, increasing each month or you may just experience acute pain here and there that spans anywhere between a few minutes to a few days.

Here's a video about ovarian cysts, one common cause for pain in your ovaries:

What Causes Pain In Your Ovaries?

You can get serious ovary pain if you are having an ectopic pregnancy, or if you have cancer in your ovaries, or even if you have cysts in your breasts.
Did you know though that there are certain food types that can be eaten to reduce ovarian pain? Likewise there are meals that can exacerbate the problem.

Food to ease ovary pain are:

- green foods like broccoli and spinach, or kale, silver-beet, bok choy and basil.

Foods that could promote more ovary pain are:

- garlic, onion, blueberries, coffee and even watermelon.
It can be a very confusing road, especially if you are trying to get pregnant because one of the biggest foods to help with conception are berries, so what you need to do is see how you feel for a day or two after consuming certain food types.
Not everyone reacts to the same types of food and for instance, blueberries might be okay for you to digest without any ovarian problems. Really you need to do some experimenting yourself to see what could be triggering your pain in your ovaries.
