Smoking When Pregnant

Smoking When Pregnant

Smoking when pregnant should be avoided all-together.

It's common knowledge now that smoking is dangerous to your health, but to smoke whilst you have an actual person being formed inside of you is not recommended at all.
Infact, even passive smoking is dangerous, and should be avoided whenever possible.

Just say you live with someone who smokes around you, unfortunately you are still breathing in the smoke, and this can still harm you, and your growing baby. Ask them if they can limit their smoking to outside.
On a positive note, it's never too late to quit, and you will find an array of benefits. You will be able to actually taste food properly, breathe easier, cough less.

Smoking When Pregnant:
What Harm Does Smoking Do?

Smoking when pregnant is like a ticking time bomb. If you can avoid it, you will only do yourself and your unborn baby a big favor.
Smokes contain over 19 cancer causing chemicals, along with nicotine which is highly addictive and highly toxic.
You can submit yourself to a host of things that will wreak havoc with not just your body, but the small body growing inside of you. Your unborn baby will find it hard to get nourishment and oxygen if you are smoking.

Gambling With Smoking

You can also put yourself at great risk of having the following, if you continue to smoke:

- heart and lung cancer

- cancer of the nose, throat, lips

- cancer of the bone marrow, stomach, liver.
Basically, if you smoke your risk of cancer is much greater, and it can strike you anywhere, at any time.
Time and time again, these horrible symptoms have taken a toll on smokers. Don't think it can't happen to you.

Trying To Quit Smoking

Quitting smoking is very hard. But you need to think to yourself, it's a short term bit of trouble and pain, for a long term gain.

Yes you are likely to feel nauseous, anxious, irritable, have mood swings and just feel generally ill. But this is normal, it won't last forever. This is simply your body's way of responding to withdrawing from a toxic and poisonous substance that it has become addicted to.
Unfortunately it's not easy for alot of people, but if you ask those who have quit and did so successfully, I'm sure they will tell you how much better they feel.
The benefits of quitting are endless - from being able to taste food properly again, no more smoke stained teeth or fingers, no smokers breath, no more having to find a place to 'dip out for a smoke', no more being control by a cancerous and poisonous stick!
These are just some of the benefits, of course things like your health will improve, your lungs will breathe a sigh of relief, you should be able to actually breathe better too!
Smoking when pregnant is never good, if you really want to give you and your baby the best chance in life, quit now!
Talk to a health professional, there are many choices available to help you quit, such as patches, tablets, hypnosis and other means of quitting.
