Find Out When You Conceived

conception-date
When working out your conception date, it's never an exact science. But there are things you can do that will give you a really good idea of when you were likely to conceive. The first thing you can do is use our due date calculator to work out when your due date is.
But if you really want to know when you conceived you might need to wait a little while until your first ultrasound, which you can normally work the days backward until your first day of the period you missed, and than subtracting 14 days from there (which will typically be the day you ovulated and conceived).
Knowing when you actually conceived has always been a little tricky, because we don't all typically record and mark on a calendar whenever we have intercourse. And even if you did have intercourse more than once and did mark it on a calendar, how would you know for sure which time was when you conceived?

Your most likely conception date

The most likely time you would conceive in any given cycle is usually leading up to when you ovulated. The five days before and including the day of ovulation are typically when you are most fertile.
You normally get your period about 14 days after the day of ovulation, so if you know when your period was due, work it backward 14 days from there, and that will give you the day of ovulation, and your most likely day of conceiving.
If you are definitely pregnant, now will be a good time to make sure you are across everything and can check off your list of things to do so that you have a safe and less stressful pregnancy.
