How To Overcome Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
It's a bit hard to pinpoint a way to treat CFS. Most people who have had it just eventually pull themselves out of it. Recovery is never an overnight thing, but more likely to happen over a number of weeks, if not months.
Visit your doctor to see and assess how big or small your problem is.
There are things you can do to avoid exacerbating the problem, and get on the mend:
- Try not to over-rest. You will be tempted to, but it's not good for you.- Try not to withdraw from social activities that you used to do, or if you don't do any, as much as you will feel like you have nothing to give, try and involve yourself in something.
- Try to adopt regular sleeping patterns. Avoid napping and try to awaken and go to sleep at the same time each day. Your body needs to adopt a routine that will become a habit, and something your body may actually grow to like and know.
- If you are depressed, try to see a doctor or Councillor. to help resolve some of your issues. These could be weighing you down and helping draw energy out of you everyday, even if you aren't conscientiously aware of it. - Try to talk with others who are going through similar problems. Sometimes talking and associating can go a long way. There are a lot of forums on line, try and find one. You may even make some new friends!
