Getting Pregnant After 40:
Trying To Conceive After Forty?
More and more women are getting pregnant after 40. Once upon a time people thought 30 was too late, but in todays modern society where the woman can have a fulfilling career, travel and enjoy things for herself, babies are getting saved for later.
If you are trying to conceive and you are over 35, it will be tougher, on average. I say on average because not everyone is the same, and some women in their forties may even have better fertility levels than some 27 year olds!
For normal couples the chance of achieving a successful pregnancy is:
•20 % for any given month
•57% within three months of trying
•75 % within six months
•90 % within one year
•95 % with in two years of attempting pregnancy
Todays technology does make it easier for you to put the decision to have a baby on the back-burner for a bit, but just remember, that even with all of the great science transitions, at the end of the day you are still human and your eggs will decline and worsen with age.
