Use An Ovulation Calculator To Time Intercourse
If you are trying to conceive, or avoid conception!
An ovulation calculator can help you to time having intercourse with your natural body cycle to give you the highest odds of conception. That's because you can have intercourse at your most fertile time of the month, around ovulation.
Want to work out when you are most fertile?
Use the calculator below which will help you time intercourse right:
Knowing when you are most fertile will help increase your odds of conception.
Along with charting your Basal Body Temperature, and/or monitoring your cervical mucus you will be armed with the knowledge of when you ovulate.
If you aren't sure about when you ovulate, there is a formula you can use to work it out, according to your bodies ebbs and flows. Once you do know when you ovulate, you should aim at having intercourse in the week around your ovulation. Particularly the days leading up to ovulation. Once you ovulate the egg can live from 6 to 24 hours, and it is during this time it can be fertilized by sperm.
Sperm usually lives for about 3 days inside of the woman, but in rarer cases can live for up to 7 days inside fertile cervical mucus.
Did you know your chances of conceiving increase to:
10 percent 4 to 6 days before ovulation,
30 percent 1 to 2 days before ovulation, and
40 percent during ovulation!
So, how do you calculate your fertile days yourself?
Month to month your cycle may vary by a couple of days. The first day of your cycle starts from the first day of your period. The last day in your cycle is the day before your next period.
It's best to have a track record from 6 months worth of cycles, that way you can get an average of your cycle length. Usually if you subtract 14 days from the last day of your cycle, that should be about where your usual ovulation day sits. So if your cycle is normally 30 days, you would typically ovulate on day 16.
