Using an OPK (Ovulation Predictor Kit) To Get Pregnant Easier

Using an OPK
(Ovulation Predictor Kit)
To Get Pregnant Easier

You can purchase an OPK (ovulation predictor kit) online, or from your local chemist. They are quite easy to use and can be used in the comfort of your own home.

An OPK will help you to predict when you are going to ovulate (within a 24 – 48 hour window).

But why would you want to know when you ovulate?
That's easy, because this is when you are most fertile! This is the best time during your cycle to become pregnant.
So why not maximize your chances by knowing when to go for it!
There are two types of ovulation tests you can use, it's personal choice as to which one you choose to purchase.

Two Different Types of Ovulation Tests

Test Type One For Detecting Ovulation

The first type measures the increase in your luteinising hormone (LH). This is the hormone that kicks in about 12 to 36hrs before ovulation.
You can measure this hormone through a urine sample or blood sample. Once a rise in luteinising hormone registers, you will know ovulation is on its way, and therefore your most fertile time of your cycle is upon you!

Test Type Two For Predicting Ovulation

The second type of ovulation test is saliva based. It measures the surge of estrogen levels near ovulation and usually shows what is known as a ferning pattern that you can usually see for yourself on a slide.
A rise in your estrogen is also an indicator of when you are at your most fertile.

Whichever type of opk test you choose to go with is your own personal choice, you can even decide to use both types of tests if you like.
Either will provide you with information of when you are most fertile, which of course is the main aim.
Likewise if you aren't seeing a ferning pattern on your saliva test each cycle, or if you aren't registering the luteinizing hormone rising, this may indicate you are having a problem with ovulation, and may be something for you to investigate further with your doctor.
If you fall into this category, do not panic! Most infertility problems can be overcome. It's when you don't know what your fertility problems are that makes it most frustrating.
