Checking Your Cervix

Checking Your Cervix

smiling
Checking your cervix is something you can do to find out when you are most fertile. There are many benefits to using this fertility technique to get pregnant.
First of all, it's FREE! You don't have to buy any gadget to do this technique, you can do it all yourself!
Secondly, once you know how to do it, it's a very easy and safe method to learning when you are trying to find out your most fertile time of your cycle.

What You Are Looking For

When checking your cervix you are looking for it to be soft, high and open for easier conception.

You are most fertile when it is high and open because this is when it will be open enough to allow sperm through to your uterus for conception, followed by a hopefully healthy pregnancy.

But how do you know the difference between it being soft (when you are most fertile) and hard (when you are least fertile)?
Well you will only know this after practising over a couple of cycles, getting familiar with your body.

An Exercise To Try

There is one comparison I can use though to help you realise the difference between when you are and aren't fertile immediately:
Put your finger to your lips and press down, noting how they feel.
Now put your finger on the tip of your nose, press down on the tip of your nose... see how it's a lot harder than your lips?

When you are most fertile your cervix can feel like the softness of your lips, but when you are least fertile it will feel a bit harder like the tip of your nose.

Another indicator that you could be highly fertile is if you have an abundance of cervical mucus.
When you get fertile mucus in your cycle it's an immediate indicator for you to go ahead and check your cervix.

Checking Cervix: How To

Always make sure you have clean hands.
Insert your middle finger into your vagina up to your middle knuckle.
Feel to see if your cervix is soft, high and open; or hard, low and closed.
If it's closed and hard, the sperm can't get through to fertilise your egg for conception.
