Vitamins For Fertility:
What Should You Be Taking?
Vitamins for fertility should be part of your plan to become pregnant. Your body needs essential nutrients for the healthy formation of your baby.
What To Take
- Folic Acid
- Iron
If you have to take a couple of essential vitamins, these are the two not to miss having.
The best thing you can do though, is to buy yourself something that is made up off all the essential nutrients for conception and pregnancy, a formula specifically for women who are trying to conceive.
And don't forget, it isn't just you who should be taking them, but your partner should too. An example of a brand of specific formulas for pre-conception are Elevit for women, and Menevit for men.
I'm currently taking the brand by Blackmores called Conceive Well Gold.
Preconception care is a fundamental part of the process to good conception. Imagine if you were going to run a marathon - but you never practiced for it, and instead you sat at home eating whatever you felt like, and than the you tried to run that marathon... you would feel like you were dying by the end of it, and probably have a number of injuries! The end result would be nothing like if you had of prepared yourself for it and taken proper care.
That's because your body wasn't expecting to do that, and certainly wasn't in any condition to do so. The same principle applies to preparing your body for a baby.
What Else Should You Be Doing?
Along with vitamins, you should be making an effort to eat healthy and also fit in some form of exercise. Get your motor running on all cylinders!!
But if in doubt you aren't getting all the vital amounts of conception vitamins, usually you can take one or two preconception tablets daily (depending upon which brand you purchase), and it's that simple - you are helping your body be one step closer to an ideal home for a growing baby! One other important thing you should remember, is that once you are pregnant, you should take pregnancy vitamins, and for 6 weeks immediately after pregnancy - your body would have been giving all nourishment to your growing baby, so you will need to replenish your own body.
